DITCHLING MORRIS

Welcome to Ditchling Morris
Ditchling Morris was established in 1985 as one of the first mixed sides in the country, performing traditional and contemporary dances in the Cotswold style. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity, our diversity, our multi-generational members, and our passion for the preservation and evolution of traditional morris dancing.
At Ditchling Morris, we are an incredibly welcoming side that can often be found dancing around Sussex and the neighbouring counties, Days of Dance around England in celebration with other sides and teams, and at some of the UK's top folk festivals, where some of our members even perform. We support local breweries, organisations, and charities, and raise funds throughout the year for our local hospice, St. Peter & St. James.
Ditchling Morris can also be found performing in the winter season in support of Ditchling Mummers, who were founded the following year in 1986. They have performed consecutively every year, and introduce a new take on a traditional play each season, coming from the collections of Sussex plays that have been preserved by academics and historians for over a century. Every year is a new play, and no two performances are the same.
We are always on the lookout for performance opportunities and new members. Whether you see yourself as our newest dancer or musician, we encourage you to get in touch by clicking the Contact Us link in the menu.
